A Wake‑Up Call for MAGA: The Truth You Keep Ignoring — The Numbers Don’t Lie

A Letter to the MAGA Faithful

I’m going to be incredibly blunt. If you still support Donald Trump blindly and you’re not ready to change, please move along. There is no help for you; you’re irredeemable. I mean, if you voted for him — fine — you are seriously in trouble, but I will try to help you if you’re ready for a change.

Let me start by asking you: how does any of this look like “winning” to you? Is it the suffering you enjoy? Do you like watching little kids get tear-gassed and taken away? Are you aware that we currently have a case against an ICE agent who is facing charges because, in a detention center, he held a woman’s child hostage and would only allow her to visit that child if she had sex with him?

Are you aware that these detainees are living in awful conditions? That’s why Pam Bondi, Donald Trump, and Kristi Noem won’t allow independent inspectors into those facilities. Do you know where else inspections aren’t allowed? North Korea and Iran.

Are you okay hearing that the water in these facilities is unsafe, the food is unclean — if they’re getting food at all — the rooms are overcrowded, there are no sleeping arrangements, no medical care, and no access to lawyers? If that doesn’t set off major moral alarm bells for you, nothing will.

The Constitution is supposed to apply to everyone, not just the people you like. And by the way, these ICE agents aren’t going after criminals; they’re going after anyone with an accent or anyone who doesn’t look white. And even if you are white, they’re targeting people just for looking at them the wrong way. This is terror. This is a terror campaign by a malignant narcissist. And it’s not just Trump — there’s a whole band of criminals and co‑conspirators ripping you off. They are stealing from the American people. They exploded the national debt by over $2 trillion in just one year. And what did you get from that, dear MAGA friend?

The United States has lost its standing in the world. It’s pushing away allies. It has no legitimacy as a trade partner anymore, much less a military partner or a cultural or moral leader — which we can argue it may never have deserved in the first place. That damage will take generations to repair, and no Trump‑style politician will be able to fix it in a million years.

I know that ten years from now — when your fearless leader is enjoying the comfort of his golden casket, worth more than your entire life’s earnings — you MAGA folks will start blaming Democrats in Congress or a Democratic president for the long‑term effects of what the Trump regime has done. But it’s not them you should blame. The blame belongs to you, and you must accept that.

I know some of you have been brainwashed by lies about immigrants being a “burden” on our system or taking resources that should go to “real” Americans. But deep down, you know those lies are just lies — and you still supported them.

You know you don’t have facts on your side, and you don’t know how to respond to facts that don’t align with the flavor of Kool‑Aid you’re drowning in. But you still have eyes, and probably some humanity buried somewhere deep in your soul, to read this and learn. To set aside hate and anger and find a way out of the abyss Trump pushed you into.

So here you go: a brand‑new study was just released by the Cato Institute. If you’ve never heard of them, they’re a libertarian think tank often cited by Reagan‑type Republicans when they want to cut spending.

The first study shows that 65% of people detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had no criminal convictions. This nonpublic ICE data, shared with the Cato Institute, indicates that the government is primarily detaining individuals with no criminal history of any kind. The study highlights the need to reevaluate ICE’s deportation practices and the treatment of individuals without criminal records.

The second study, also from Cato, reports that immigrants saved American taxpayers more than $14 trillion. They saved the U.S. government an estimated $14.5 trillion over the last 30 years and single‑handedly prevented a fiscal crisis.

The study analyzed federal, state, and local government data from 1994 through 2023, drawing from the U.S. Census Bureau and tax information. The findings are stark: without the contributions of immigrants — both naturalized citizens and non‑citizens — U.S. public debt would have soared to at least 205% of GDP, nearly double the actual 2023 level.

This study evaluated the impact of immigrants on government spending over 30 years, including undocumented immigrants. Most importantly, immigrants reduced the deficit every single year during that period — a 30‑year streak of paying more in taxes than they cost the government at all levels combined. So here is your complete debunking of the myth that immigrants are a “burden” to the U.S.

How is this possible, you may ask? Because even though immigrants are paid lower wages on average, they work at much higher rates — more hours and more jobs. In other words, immigrants make up about 14% of the U.S. population but over 18% of the workforce.

You also need to remember that immigrants are far less likely to work government jobs, less likely to be eligible for public pensions, and more likely to live in poverty — yet they are no more likely than “real” Americans to need government support.

Studies also show that immigrants are half as likely as “real” Americans to have a felony conviction or serve time in prison. That’s additional savings for the system.

Altogether, immigrants contributed 14% of tax revenue while accounting for only 7% of government spending, resulting in a net positive impact of $14.5 trillion. And $6.3 trillion of that came from people who are not even naturalized U.S. citizens yet.

In conclusion, $14.5 trillion is massive — and without it, our national debt would have doubled.

So next time you profile immigrants walking down the street while others drive, don’t be scared, little MAGA friend. It’s not an invasion. They’re walking because they don’t own a vehicle or they’re saving money on gas so they can feed their kids and help family members in “third‑world countries.” Don’t be afraid of your race being replaced or your wealth being taken. They’re in an even worse situation than you are. Everything is stacked against them, yet they’re fighting to survive — just like you, but with far fewer tools.

So next time you hear a few of them speaking their mother tongue or speaking with a thick accent in a shopping center, don’t be afraid. They’re human, and they’re trying. Speaking without an accent takes time, dedication, facial muscle training, and professional help. They don’t have that time because they’re fighting their own trauma and working hard to survive and to afford education for their children so they can speak clear English and contribute even more.

Listen — if you see the light after reading this and you want to leave MAGA behind, thank you. I’m still very angry at you. I don’t forgive you. But it’s the right thing to do, and I applaud you for it.
