What we have learned from the last three ICE executions this year is something I predicted when Trump came into power, especially after following white supremacist groups closely. The cases of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and Keith Porter show that the Second Amendment becomes meaningless if you dissent against a government acting in a fascistic and tyrannical manner — even though none of them used weapons against officers. Porter fired celebratory shots on New Year’s Eve. Pretti was carrying a holstered gun with a valid CPL permit. Renee’s “weapon” was simply her sexual orientation.
In contrast, during the 2020 George Floyd protests, Kyle Rittenhouse — a teenager openly carrying an AR‑15 — killed two people and walked away celebrated by the President, his supporters, and extremist groups. Today, those same voices justify ICE killings by pointing to the mere possession of firearms by Pretti and Porter. The hypocrisy is not subtle; it’s structural.
After watching four different videos of Pretti’s killing — filmed from four angles — it is clearly visible that his gun remained holstered the entire time. One agent removed it from him only after noticing it, and immediately afterward another officer began shooting Pretti in the back at close range. Many will excuse this as fear or incompetence. But what if it wasn’t? What if the order is simple: anyone with a firearm is a target?
We can’t know, because DHS, ICE, and Border Patrol operate behind a wall of secrecy that no democratic institution should tolerate.
And if such an order exists, it would not be surprising. These agencies have increasingly adopted Israel’s IOF training and tactics that encourage dehumanization and the use of extreme force against perceived dissenters. Their public messaging — including DHS’s online ads that resemble Third Reich Posters propaganda — raises serious concerns about the direction of this administration.
What I’m about to say is my personal theory, not a conspiracy: I strongly believe that this administration appears intent on reshaping the United States into a system where a dominant self‑defined “Judeo‑Christian majority” governs, and everyone else becomes an internal enemy — marginalized, surveilled, and expendable, subjected to dehumanization, exclusion, and expulsion. That future becomes inevitable if we remain silent while the justice system and the Constitution are hollowed out in real time.
This is just my opinion, and maybe I’m overthinking, but I don’t believe I’m exaggerating. Four days ago, the House passed a new DHS bill that includes a provision allowing DHS to deport U.S. citizens — a clause reportedly pushed by Stephen Miller himself. If that doesn’t alarm people, I don’t know what will. This looks less like immigration policy and more like a political purge aimed at those who oppose the administration’s stance on Gaza and the West Bank.
We were warned years ago about Miller’s immigration agenda. After Trump’s 2018 speech at the United Nations — written by Miller — Democracy Now highlighted Miller’s role as the architect of widely condemned immigration policies such as family separation. He also pushed to drastically reduce refugee admissions and to penalize immigrants who had ever used public benefits like Obamacare, children’s health insurance, or food stamps. In that speech, Trump declared: “Illegal immigration exploits vulnerable populations, hurts hardworking citizens, and has produced a vicious cycle of crime, violence, and poverty.”
Even Miller’s own family has spoken out. His uncle, Dr. David Glosser, wrote an article titled “Stephen Miller is an immigration hypocrite — I know because I’m his uncle.” He argued that if Miller’s policies had existed a century ago, their own family would never have survived.
To make the picture even clearer: two days ago, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi demanded that Governor Walz cooperate with the administration by providing a list of Minnesotans receiving welfare benefits, ending sanctuary policies, and giving the DOJ access to Minnesota’s voter rolls.
And remember: this administration does not distinguish between legal and undocumented immigrants. They arrest people inside immigration courts — people who are legally present, who have alien numbers, who are following the rules. The narrative about “criminal illegals” collapses under the weight of their actions.
They are even arresting and deporting law‑abiding naturalized U.S. citizens. That alone should shatter any illusion that this is about law and order.
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” — George Orwell, 1984
If this isn’t enough to alarm people, then what is? How much clearer does a fascistic takeover need to be before we call it what it is?
